A lot of it has to do with the big blockbusters these days, they make so much money because you can sell them globally that it subsidizes all the bad movies you see nominated last night. Subsidizes their woke stupidity (also just think hollywood is out of ideas, 80 years of film is a long time)
Was talking to my friend about this during the show, he's a liberal but even admitted movies on major decline (said some stupid lib shit along the way but no need for me to relay that)
Last legitimately good movie I saw was Hell or High Water and that came out 4 years ago.
Don't really care about watching an awards show though, I'd file that under "People used to pretend it was good but it kinda always sucked"....Like most ESPN programming
